Thomas Massie Accused Of Threatening Acts Of Government Function After Demanding Congress Do Its Job

President reportedly angered after Kentucky lawmaker menaces Washington with votes, questions, and basic Article I behavior

COVINGTON— Federal officials confirmed Tuesday that Rep. Thomas Massie has once again escalated tensions in Washington by threatening to make the government perform several of its intended duties, including reading legislation, debating war powers, and asking where the money went.

Sources close to the situation said the President was angered after Massie issued what aides described as “a highly procedural threat,” reportedly warning leadership that Congress may be forced to vote on matters before spending billions of dollars, approving new powers, or pretending a 900-page bill arrived by divine wind.

“This is not normal behavior anymore,” said one senior administration official. “Most members of Congress understand their job is to arrive, clap, blame the other party, and leave. Massie keeps trying to operate the branch of government like it has functions.”

The incident began after Massie allegedly stood near a committee room and said, “Congress should do its job,” causing several aides to dive behind furniture while one communications staffer began drafting a statement about extremism.

Capitol personnel said the congressman’s most serious act came moments later, when he threatened to ask whether the federal government had authority to do something before doing it. Officials described the question as “hostile, targeted, and weirdly sourced.”

“This is how institutions get destabilized,” said Randy Kessler, a Northern Kentucky voter watching coverage from a Covington bar. “First a man asks what the Constitution says. Then somebody checks. Then suddenly everybody has to admit they were just vibing with federal power.”

Massie’s office declined to apologize, stating only that “Congress exists for a reason,” a phrase legal analysts said could become dangerous if repeated near appropriations staff.

As of press time, the President had reportedly ordered advisors to determine whether government accountability could be classified as a threat to democracy if said in an annoying enough tone
